Simply scroll down to view all new settings. Under the Pricing section, there is an option to turn on Price Control. This feature limits pricing alterations to managers.

Users can also set the workers and control their accessibility to the shop using the Login with workers option, which is accessible under the PoS Interface part of the settings. Employees can utilise this to access the PoS session by scan the badges or providing a PIN set in the HR Settings area of the employee form. When the option is activated, the user will see two access rights: Basic and Advanced.
In the same shop, we can assume there are two employees. One is Marc Demo, while the other is Izaq Luth. Here, Marc Demo has only Basic rights, whereas Izaq Luth possesses Advanced rights. The permitted personnel are specified inside the settings.

Then let’s start a new session. Save the new changes first. Then head to the dashboard. The Point of Sale dashboard displays all sessions that have been created. The session with the new settings introduced is titled Furniture Shop. To open the Coffee Shop, click the Open Register button.
How to Assign Staff and Open Register in Odoo18 POS
When you click the Open Register button, a new window will open. From there, the user can select the staff who will open the shop. Users can select the scanning method from this window, as illustrated in the screenshot below. Identify the employee first, and then click the button shown in the screenshot below.

The user initially chose Izaq Luth, a sales manager with extensive rights. Click on the name of the employee. When an employee first starts a session, they can enter an opening balance into the shop. The beginning balance is the amount entered by the user into the cashbox as the beginning sum for sales. This might be the residual balance from the day previous. Then, to start the sales, select the Open Register button.
When the user clicks the Start Register button, the order screen opens. All products will be displayed on the right side of the screen. Izaq Luth is the employee who is currently logged in, as shown in the upper right corner of the screen.

The left side is known as the orderboard. When a user chooses a product, it will be added to the left side. The user can alter the quantity, price, discount percentage, and other settings on the left side.

Here, the user has added various things, the price of which is 28.88 AED. There is a Price button there. The logged-in employee is Izaq Luth, who has Advanced Access to the session. So Izaq Luth can easily change the unit pricing of the selected products.
It is now evident that employees having Advanced access to sessions can easily adjust the pricing of the chosen product. So the manager has the ability to change prices. Next, let’s look into the other employee. Users must change the employee first. So, click the employee’s name in the upper right corner.
So Marc Demo logged into the session. This time the user can modify the quantity, however the Price option is disabled as you see in the below screenshot.
So, an employee with Minimal Access cannot adjust the pricing of a product. Only employees with Advanced Access have the power to change the retail price of a product.
