Configuration

Just open the Project app, click Create, give your project a Name, and then Create Project. That’s it!

You can customize existing projects right from your dashboard. Just click the drop-down toggle button on any project’s card.

This opens a new menu with four main sections:

• View: section offers a complete overview of your project including Tasks, Milestones, and Project Updates. Depending on your activated Odoo apps, you also find additional options like Documents, where all uploaded project files are accessible.
• Reporting: section helps you analyze your project’s progress and profitability through clear graphics and statistics.
• Color: A colored line on the left of the card will help people identify your project.

You can also mark the project as a favorite to find it using the My Favorites easily filter on the Kanban board.

Scheduling Activities

You can schedule project activities like calls or meetings by clicking the clock icon on a project and this will opens a list of existing activities and lets you plan new ones by clicking + Schedule an activity. In the pop-up, choose the Activity Type, add a Summary, set a Due Date, and assign an employee. Additional options appear based on the Activity Type you select.

Top Bar

When managing projects, you’ll need to view various records and documents. Odoo Project’s top bar gives you quick access to all these important resources. Also, you can customize each project’s top bar to suit the specific needs.

To set up the top bar for a project first go to the Project app. Click on the project’s card, then click the top bar (sliders) button. A bar will appear above the search bar. Click the (sliders) button in this new bar to choose which records you want to display like timesheets, sales orders, invoices, documents or dashboards.

Once set up, you can click these buttons in the top bar to access related records (like timesheets or invoices) without ever leaving the Project app. To get back to your project tasks, just click the Tasks button in that same top bar.

You can also create your own custom buttons to access even more specific views.

• Just click a button in the top bar to open that view.
• Customize your view using the search bar with keywords, filters, and grouping options.
• In the top bar, click the (sliders) button and select Save View.
• You can edit the default button name and enable Shared if you want other users to access it.
