How to Navigate the Survey Module
A dashboard that resembles the screenshot below will appear when you launch the Survey Module
A range of pre-made surveys can accessed from the home page. Using the options in the Filters, Group By, and Favourites sections found in the advanced search bar at the top of the page, you can arrange and classify these surveys. Using the Share, Test, See Results, and See Live Session buttons, respectively, users can share the documents, test them, view the survey results, and initiate a new live session.
Kanban and List Views
As we seen in the list and activity views, the Odoo17 Survey Module organizes surveys using a Kanban view. Important details such as the name of the survey, the quantity of replies, the certification status, and the success rate shown on each survey card. Every card has a three-dotted menu in the upper right corner that offers quick access to options like “Edit survey,” “Share,” “Delete,” and “Colour”. Every survey card also features a clock icon that facilitates scheduling additional survey-related tasks.
How to Create a New Survey
It’s easy to create a survey in Odoo17. To begin the process, click the “New” button. This opens a new page where you can specify the kind of survey you want to make, like:
- Survey For standard feedback forms.
- Live Sessions used for in-the-moment communication, frequently in virtual learning environments.
- Assessment Designed for exams or certifications.
- Custom For specific or unique survey requirements.
You’ll begin by entering basic data, like the survey’s name or title, on the survey creation page, as seen in the screenshot above. The responsible user will assign automatically based on your settings. There are multiple tabs for configuring your survey, including Questions, Options, Descriptions, End Messages, and Adding Questions, below the basic information.
Questions Tab
You can begin adding the survey questions under the Questions tab. As seen in the screenshot above, selecting the “Add a question” button opens a page with a variety of question formats, including multiple choice (one or more answers), text boxes (one or more lines), date or datetime fields, matrices, and more.
Per the specifications, you can also set more answer details in the Answers, Description, and Options tab sections only after the question is created, and to add a new question click “Save & Close” to save it or click “Save & New” option
Options Tab
You can adjust additional survey settings on the Options tab:
Choose the page layout (each question on a separate page, each section, or all questions on one page).
Set the display of progress as (% or No.).
In the Question Selection field, specify the options for random question display.
Use the Allow Roaming option to allow respondents to navigate backward.
Specify the access methods (such as “Anyone with a link”) under PARTICIPANTS.
Select whether to enable or disable the Require Login option to determine whether participants
must log in before starting the survey.
Descriptions Tab
Guidelines that participants must follow can given in the description tab and we can also give a summary of the survey here. This helps set expectations.
End Message Tab
You can draft the message that survey respondents will see after completing the survey on the End Message tab. This could be a note of appreciation or further details about what comes next.
After completing the survey use the save icon button to add your survey to the collection. Many options are available for the survey, such as sharing, testing, establishing live sessions, printing for offline use, and closing for additional edits. It can shared through social media, email, and other platforms.
Sharing and Managing Responses
The share option is for send the link to that survey to participants. Enter the name of the survey, the URL, the recipients, and any more instructions. Also, you can enable participant certification and set a deadline.
The Share button on the survey module can used to share links which include their responses and scores. This link can also used to track and analyze responses
View Survey Results
The ‘See results’ button at the end of the view of the dashboard can used to see the results of the respective survey.
Success rates and other important metrics are often shown in graphical formats, such as pie charts, to illustrate the results.
Participation Menu
Using the Participation menu found in the main menu bar of the survey module is for to view and manage records recorded by the participants which give you information about the reach and engagement of the survey. Every answer of the participants is recorded here. Participants will see information about the survey’s creation date, name, contact, email, attempts, deadline, quiz pass, score, and status on their dashboard. To see the detailed list of the participants use the dropdown icon under the survey title as shown in the image below.
The Odoo platform’s Advanced search bar offers a number of criteria by which we can sort the surveys and generate personalised survey reviews. The Knowledge Module interface allows users to export survey data and create spreadsheets, dashboards, and articles via the Action menu on the left side of the page.
Questions & Answers Menu
The Survey Module in Odoo17 has a dedicated section for managing survey content called Questions & Answers. It lets you design, arrange, and personalise the survey questions and response choices. There are three sub-menu options on this menu: Detailed Answers, Suggested Values, and Questions.
