How to Create Combo Products in Odoo18 POS

One of the emerging trends in today’s retail businesses is to provide multiple products as a single combo product in Odoo18 POS which lures the customer into buying these seemingly attractive products with great price. As always, Odoo has brought the necessary features to keep up with emerging business trends.

Odoo18’s POS module, has introduced the feature to configure such Combo Products thus enabling the retailers to sell such Combo Products at a special rate. This improves the efficiency of combo products in Odoo18 POS sale operations and is particularly beneficial for retail stores or outlets, restaurants or supermarkets where such Combo Products can into practical use.

In this blog, we can have a look into enabling the Odoo18 Combo Product feature and how it can POS.

In order to create combo products Odoo18, first we will have to the individual which can to the combo products to go through the following steps

Point of Sale → Products → Create New Product

In the product form view enter the Product Name and its Sales Price. Also enter all the other required details.

Similarly, we can create other products which will in the combo product.

As shown in the above images we have created the following products which will in the combo product

• Pizza Margherita
• Pizza Vegetarian
• Large Fries
• Medium Fries

The next step is to create combo choices. In order to so, go through the following steps.

Point of Sale → Products → Combo Choices → Create New Combo Choice

Here, you can see different details which need to entered.

• Combo Choice -Enter the name of the combo choice.
• Company -If the combo choice has to be to a particular company we can select the required company, or else blank.
• Product – products available in this combo choice can here.
• Original Price -The sales Price of the selected product will here.
• Extra Price -if any extra price has to added, we can add it here.

In our case we will create two different combo choices one for the Pizza and the other for the Fries as shown in the image below.

In the product form enter the required details such as name of the product sales price etc. Select the Product Type as Combo. Select the required Combo Choices. Here we have selected the Combo Choices as Pizza Choice and Fries Choice.

Under the Point of Sale tab we can add the Category for the product so that it easily used in the POS sessions.

Now we can check whether our Combo Product have been added in the POS session or not. In order to so go through the following steps.

Point of Sale → Dashboard → Click in Open Register or Continue Selling Option

Here we will choose to Continue Sellling in Restaurants.

From the POS session, click on the combo product Pizza-Fries Combo

A pop-up will be displayed with the combo choices that we have created.

From each combo choice, we can select one product and then click on the Add to Order button.

Once the product has been added to the order, the rate of each product can and the total rate of the order can be viewed which is the price that we have set for the combo product.

As shown in the above image, the total price of the combo is set as $ 40, and the prices of the individual products, i.e, Pizza Margherita and Large Fries proportionally based on the original product prices and the total combo price. This will ensure that the combined price reflects the combo price while maintaining a fair and logical price distribution across the individual products in the combo.

So, in the above example,

• Original Sales Price of the first product i.e, Pizza Margherita = $ 11.5
• Original Sales Price of the second product i.e, Large Fries’= $ 10

• The sum of the original prices of two products 11.5 + 10 = $ 21.5

• The Sales price of the combo Pizza- Fries Combo = $ 40

• Adjusted Sales Price of the product Pizza Margherita in the Combo = $ 23.59

• Adjusted Sales Price of the product Large Fries in the Combo = $ 16.41

Next step is to click on the Order button to confirm the order. In order to make the payment, click on the Payment button.

Select the required payment method and then validate the payment to complete the process.

Once the payment has been made, the receipt will be generated and can be viewed as shown in the above image.

Now click on the New Order to go back to the session and create a new order.

Thus, configuration of combo products in Odoo18 is a very simple efficient and straightforward process that can significantly enhance sale operations. This can as an effective sales strategy to boost sales as well as combo products in odoo18 POS to enhance customer satisfaction by encouraging customers to buy multiple items together. With the help of Odoo18 businesses can effectively configure sell and manage various combo products to efficiently improve sales and also improve the customer experience.
