Let’s explore the overview of the Odoo17 Sales module in a simple way. We have the interface of Odoo17 by opening and lets go to the sales module. There you can find the onboarding panel and below there are the quotations that have been pre-created in our system. At the top right corner, you can see different views such as list view, kanban view, calendar view, pivot view, graphical view, and activities.

The list view is shown in the figure. We have the kanban view which is a card-like view, where in a single card we get every details of the quotation. Then we have the calendar view. Here regarding each date, we can see the different sale orders which have been created. Next is the pivot view where you get a table like view of the quotations. If you want to insert it into a this is the interface when you open the Odoo17 sales module spreadsheet that is also possible. Then we have the graph view which is simply a graphical analysis of the quotations. It can be a bar chart, line chart, and pie chart. Finally, we have the activity, where all scheduled activities are displayed.

Go to Orders -> Quotations -> Create New

Steps to Create a Quotation

Click now and start creating your quotation. It simply requires a Customer Name, Invoice Address, and Products. It also contains the Expiration date, Recurring plans, Pricelist, and Payment terms. From all these, you can choose. It has a quotation Template which is a template pre-created, once you create a template that you can simply choose one and all the data including order lines will come.

You can also include Optional Products, Other info, and Notes. After setting all the details and information, You can send the quotation through ‘Sent by Email’ option to send to the customer by mail.

By sending, the state will change to ‘Quotation Sent’and once you confirm the quotation, the Sale Order is created. You can create an Invoice for this quotation by clicking the ‘Create Invoice’ button. new quotation interface Create Invoice -> Create draft Invoice -> confirm After confirmation the state changes from Draft to Posted.

Now you have the option to Send and Print the Invoice, Register payment, Preview, Credit Note and Reset to Draft.

Register Payment -> Create Payment -> Paid

That’s how a quotation is created, then a Sale order is made and Invoid is created and It’s done.

In the Orders menu, other than the Quotations we have Orders where all the orders are listed, Sales Teams which is used to manage the sales team, and Customers includes all the customers of our company or organization We can also create customers here.
Next, we have the menu called To Invoice which has two submenus such as Orders to Invoice and Orders to Upsell.

In Order to Invoice, you will get all the sale orders which are under the status ‘To Invoice’.Orders to Upsell contain upselling which is a process that occurs when there is a difference in the ordered quantity as well as the delivered quantity.

Next, we have the Products menu, which contains all the products which we use inside the sale orders. You can also create Products here.

Next menu is the Reporting menu which contains reports of Sales, salespersons, Products, and Customers.

Finally, we have a menu called Configuration. There are a lot of details inside configuration.First one is the settings, which contain a lot of configuration settings such as Product Catalog, Pricing, Quotations and Orders, Shipping, Invoicing, and Connectors.

Other configurations include a Sales Team, Sales Orders with Quotation Templates, Shipping Methods, and Tags. Then Products with Attributes and Product Categories. Then Online Payments with Payment Providers and Payment Methods And last one is the units of Measures.
